What is Once CTE?
Once CTE is a delivery model for the Once Early-Reading Program. High school students, typically in a Career and Technical Education pathway, provide Once tutoring to elementary students while embedded in elementary classrooms.
Who provides the reading instruction?
High school CTE students provide in-person, one-to-one reading tutoring during dedicated times in their schedules. They use Once’s scripted early-reading curriculum with elementary students.
What can CTE teachers and supervisors see?
Once records instructional sessions and tracks attendance, student pacing and progress, and elementary student mastery through regular automated oral reading fluency tests.
Who receives coaching?
Districts can choose coaching for the CTE supervisor or teacher, a learning community that includes the high school students, or both. Once can also coach CTE students directly.
How often does supervisor coaching happen?
CTE Supervisor Coaching is available in 30-minute meetings on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly cadence. Meetings use recorded instruction to evaluate performance and improve delivery.
Can the two coaching services be purchased separately?
Yes. CTE Supervisor Coaching and the CTE Learning Community can be purchased together or separately.
