Once Curriculum Aligns to State Standards

Once's curriculum meets most literacy standards for kindergarten and first grade in all 50 states — with alignment documents published for multiple states already.

The scripted Once curriculum faithfully follows the Science of Reading with spiraled activities on phoneme introduction and review, segmenting, blending, word reading, authentic text reading, and writing. However, when we’re talking with district chief academic officers, principals, and literacy experts about our work, they understandably want to know more than the science behind what we’ve built. They want to know exactly how our curriculum aligns to their specific state standards by grade — and we don’t blame them!

We are proud to share that our curriculum meets most literacy standards for kindergarten and first grade in all 50 states!

We’ve published how our work aligns to the standards in Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas on our website. We’re working hard to publish a page for every state in the near future.

If you want to keep up with our state standard alignment work, you can find all of our published pages here.

If you want to talk with our team to learn more about our work and how it meets your district’s or school’s specific learning goals, please connect with us via our contact page.
