How much does Once at Home cost my family?
Nothing. Your school district pays for your family’s Once at Home license, so there is no cost to you.
Who is Once at Home for?
This program is designed for children ages 4–7, including children who are not reading yet and children who have already started learning letters, sounds, and words.
How often should we use Once at Home?
Plan for 5–15 minutes at a time, several times each week. Short, consistent one-to-one practice helps reading become a familiar part of your family routine.
Do I need teaching experience?
No. Each lesson is fully scripted, so you know what to say, what to show your child, and what to do next. You lead the lesson one-to-one with your child.
Is the lesson script available in Spanish?
Yes. The parent-facing lesson script is available in Spanish, so Spanish-speaking adults can lead Once lessons at home.
Is Once an app my child uses alone?
No. Once is a parent-led reading program. You view the lesson script online while you teach your child directly, then your child can practice with physical decodable books away from the screen.
