Tim is nervous about going to kindergarten.  He wishes he could stay home at first, but then he makes a new friend, Kate. He and Kate spend the whole day together, sharing and playing. At the end of the day, Mom returns to pick Tim up and he tells her he wishes he could stay in kindergarten.

Mom brought Tim in the kindergarten class.

Tim said, "But Mom! I wish I was back at home."

It is time for class to start!  

The teacher said, "Tim, pick a partner to sit with."

Kate said, "I have markers to share."

Kate liked to read, just like Tim.

Kate helped Tim stack the blocks.

Tim and Kate traded snacks at lunch.

It is time for class to end.  

Tim said, "But Mom! I wish I was back at class!"

This file is designed to be printed, folded, stapled, and given to students as a booklet.  

• Step 1: To print, select “print on both sides of the paper” and “flip on the short edge” in your print menu.  

• Step 2: Fold the printed pages along the dashed line in the center, and staple on top of the three staple images on the front cover.

When one student finishes reading the booklet, you can pass it on to the next student who is ready for it.  Or you can create one copy for each student and tell them that they can color the pictures when they finish reading it.
