Parent and guardian involvement is critical for early literacy success (and the later academic success it enables). Last month we thanked the translation department at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for translating our parent letter into Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, and Russian so that parents and guardians know what their children are learning and how they can help. Now, thanks to the help of our partners in Washington D.C. Public Schools, our parent letter is now also available in Mandarin and Amharic, with more languages to come. We are grateful to both districts for their support and for the strength of these public-private partnerships.
