In this task, students will learn the sound /ch/ as in chain.
This is another stop phoneme (like t/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /k/ (written as c), /b/, and /k/). Make sure you do not stop at the arrow under the sound, and take care to make as little of a vowel sound after it as possible. It should be /ch/ not /chŭh/.
The final part of this task introduces reading words sub-vocally when they begin and end with stop sounds.
This part of the task introduces reading words fast (without sounding them out vocally first) when they begin and end with stop phonemes.
If a student struggles, ask the student to read the word slowly out loud so that you can diagnose the problem.
