This task requires students to read multisyllabic words containing the al letter combination. Students are not asked to identify the letter combination or its sound before reading the word.
This task focuses on adding the suffix -less to the end of -VCe pattern words. This is an auditory exercise that lays the groundwork for reading words like these later.
